A propos du shooting Automne/Hiver 2010-2011 pour Little Fashion Gallery ” Il s’agit toujours de rendre compte avec tendresse de l’enfance, sans en oublier son âpreté. La collision d’éléments hétérogènes dans un endroit incongru est, comme le sont les enfants, un phénomène fascinant et mystérieux. On ne peut que rester en marge et s’interroger devant leur grâce spontanée. D’où viennent-ils donc? J’ai beaucoup aimé le choix de Marie, cette maison sans âge, un dédale très stimulant de souvenirs et de réminiscences. Les enfants, tout neuf, en ont fait leur écrin. C’était un shooting magique. La lumière, le décor surprenant sont des instruments narratifs. Cela me permet de définir une ambiance, de suggérer des histoires, sans pour autant enfermer l’image dans une réalité prosaïque. ” Gaëtan Bernard voir toutes les photos dans le Little Fashion Book vol. 5 >

About the Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 photoshoot for Little Fashion Gallery “When you think about childhood, it should always be with tenderness, but without forgetting that it can sometimes be harsh as well. The conflict between diverse elements in a strange environment is a fascinating and mysterious phenomenon, in the same way as children are. We can only sit and stare and wonder at their spontaneous charm. Where do they come from? I very much liked Marie’s choice of this timeless house with its stimulating maze of memories and recollections. And the children, all brand new, made it into their own special haven. It was a truly magical shoot. The light and unusual décor provided perfect tools for me to create an ambiance and different scenarios, whilst at the same time ensuring that the image was not encapsulated in a mundane way.” Gaëtan Bernard view all the pics in the Little Fashion Book issue 5 >

Gaëtan Bernard, photographe, signe les campagnes Little Fashion Gallery depuis le lancement du site. Privilégiant le portrait depuis ses premiers travaux, c’est désormais au festival de Cannes que Gaëtan rencontre et shoot chaque année les visages du cinéma français et international. Dans le domaine de la mode, il travaille en étroite collaboration avec le designer Kris Van Assche, ainsi qu’avec la prestigieuse maison Dior. Gaëtan porte un regard juste sur l’enfance – son travail, à la fois doux et touchant, révèle à chaque campagne une facette de la vision Little Fashion Gallery.
Gaëtan Bernard, photographer, has directed ‘Little Fashion Gallery’ campaigns since the launch of the site. His early works saw him prioritize portraits, and every year at the Cannes Festival, Gaëtan meets and photographs famous faces of French and international cinema. In the fashion world, he works closely with the designer Kris Van Assche, aswell as working with the prestigious fashion house Dior. Gaëtan has a fresh stance on infancy. Every campaign, touching and sensitive, reveals a single aspect of the vision of Little Fashion Gallery.

“Le travail de Patrick Swirc m’a toujours interpellé. Un portrait, c’est très noble et très complexe à réaliser. Il excelle dans cet art avec beaucoup de singularité. J’avais vraiment adoré sa série effectuée pour Libération lors du dernier festival de Cannes. C’était un travail magistral. Je retrouve dans le cliché de Paul cette dextérité qui me plait tant. J’imagine qu’il est allé vite, qu’il savait ce qu’il faisait tout en laissant place à l’imprévu. Je ne le connais pas personnellement mais je reconnais toujours ses photos immédiatement. Il capte l’essentiel de ses sujets tout en livrant, peut-être, beaucoup de lui-même…” “I have always been drawn to question Patrick Swirc’s work. A portrait is a very complex and noble project to carry out. He excels in this art from in a very individual way. I absolutely loved his collection for the newspaper, Libération, during the last Cannes film festival. It was an absolute masterpiece! I recognise this in the cliché of Paul; it is this skill that pleases me most. I imagine that he goes quickly, that he knows what he is going to do, yet he still leaves room for the unexpected. I don’t know Patrick personally but I can instantly recognise his photographs.
